New Goals (12/31)

As we are in the last hours of 2024, it’s great to take a moment to reflect on the past and present achievements. One thing we all have in common is looking forward to the future.

For most of us that “look forward” is in the form of a New Year’s resolution, some of us “sickos” add goals and resolutions based on our golf game.

Here are 5 easy golf resolutions for 2025:

  • Make the most of the offseason and practice the things you normally don’t do

  • Practice Putting - don’t succumb to those short “knee-knockers in 2025

  • Make it a priority to cross off one course on that bucket list

  • Plan that buddies trip in advance - schedule it out so there’s zero “this is super last minute” responses

  • Club maintenance - clean the clubs after your round, it creates longevity and your performance can be optimized with clean grooves

Set specific, achievable goals, chunk it up into smaller steps, write down your progress, find a homie to keep you accountable, and start small with realistic changes. These are very realistic and manageable goals, that won’t create stress or be unchecked on December 31st

I hope you have a prosperous 2025, and may you achieve every goal you set.

Always apply the BG mantra to your goals as well. Be Bold, Have Confidence, and Maintain Comfort.

The Origin (12/18)

It all began with an idea. Back in 2021 I made the New Year’s resolution to try something different. That “different” was trying to create an environment, a brand, and a community around Golf. Reflecting about my life in golf from picking up a club in 2011 to earning a college scholarship in 2015. I fell in love with game after draining my first putt, and was truly indebted to the game and it’s opportunities it provided me.

Putting was something I became extremely fascinated with. I would stay on the putting green until it was completely dark, and even then I would use my phone flashlight to practice. My love for putting made me develop a love for grass types, specifically bent grass. I was completely mesmerized by bent grass, from the way the grass is so receptive to approach shots to the tremendous feel you get when playing a breaking putt.

In 2012, the world of bent grass greens in the south came crumbling down on me, and my home course and all the neighboring courses were starting to transition to Bermuda greens. At first, this was a huge shock to me, we all know when Bermuda is first “playable” it’s like hitting an approach shot into a trampoline. Within those first few months, I really struggled to adapt and the change made me question a lot of things, especially putting.

Once I started to get out of my own head and really start to hone in, I started to notice trends where I could play my putts more for speed than break…like I would with Bent greens. Not to mention draining one of my first 80 foot bombs helped too (lol). But I soon found a second love within Bermuda Greens.

So fast forward to 2021, the name of the brand naturally came to mind.

Fast-forward to now that idea is now a reality. Yes - we are small and a one-man show, but a very mighty brand. Although the size isn’t quite there yet, I have learned that this requires patience just like the game, we all love. But I have an awesome community of newfound friends and supporters that I am truly thankful for!

My message to you…

Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn your hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story, can make all the difference.

Always remember to sound like YOU. There are over billions ideas out there, but your story is what’s going to separate you from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be Bold, have Confidence, maintain Comfort, and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your brand can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now.

Later will take care of itself. It always does.

Thank you for embarking on this journey with me!
